About Me

"The past is never dead. It's not even past."
―William Faulkner

Social Studies is, to me, more than a study of economics, or governments, or the past, or even other cultures. Social Studies is a study of us, in the here and now. We simply use subjects called History, Economics, Geography, and Government to learn about who we are.

I proudly served for 20 years in the United States Air Force where I developed a real passion for teaching. While I am a relatively new school teacher, I have been involved in educating for many years in various ways. I want my students to love history; but even if some of them don't share my passion, I want them to leave my class feeling loved, respected, and capable of the many wonderful things I know they can do.
