McKinney-Vento 101
(Mckinney - Vento Homelessness Assistance Act)

Could you or someone you know be experiencing.............
A natural disaster
A job cut-back or lay off..
Loss of health coverage or other benefits...
Wages that do not keep up with the rising cost of living...
Living doubled-up with others due to loss of housing, economic hardship or similar reason?
All of these situations can potentially result in homelessness. The fastest growing homeless population in America is the family. Current statistics estimate that over 4,140,000 students in our state are experiencing homelessness at some time during the school year. The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act ensures educational rights and protection for children and youth experiencing homelessness. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Vanessa Constancio, District Homeless Liaison, @ 210-801-8122.
