Communication Applications and Public Speaking

Communication Applications and Public Speaking are courses that will help prepare students for college, professional experiences, and most importantly, LIFE.  Students will gain a tremendous amount of knowledge in this class that will assist them in developing self confidence, increase their fluency as a speaker, and aid in research and organizational strategies. Most importantly, the class will teach the students how to conduct themselves in professional and social settings. This course introduces the basic aspects of communication and public speaking: poise, body language, social norms, conflict resolution, the relationship between sender and receiver, etc. In addition, through our class projects, students will experience real life application by presenting various types of presentations to their community, developing social skills through volunteering, learning to work in diverse groups, using various mediums to analyze and create social media messages, building a resume and develop interviewing skills.
